Wouldn't paying time and a half solve the problem? If you work a 60-hr week, then you get 175% of your 40-hr salary, not 150%. Management would then have an incentive to hire enough staff.

Can innovation really happen by order of the Chinese government? Maybe through focus and sheer scale, but how does can they sustain progress across their whole economy?
Snowden has done his duty as a citizen: to expose the abuses of his country's government. And he should do his duty and receive the consequence of violating his oath: He collected and exposed secrets after agreeing not to do so. He can't have it both ways. Duty is duty.
