Journal M.C. Hampster's Journal: Survivor All-Stars: Episode 2 6

Sorry Bethanie for the waiting so long to post this, I had planned on writing this up Friday, but ended up being way too busy to do so.

Rudy, Rudy, Rudy. Seems to be a theme this season for losers. First, we lose Rudy from the Cosby Show on Celebrity Mole, and now we lose our favorite curmudgeon, Rudy. At first, it looked like we were going to lose him to Brain Parasites (tm), but instead we lost him to a couple of different parasites: Jerri and Jenna. Is it just me, or is Jerri halfway bearable this season? Or is it simply because Jenna is even more annoying that it makes Jerri look ok in comparison?

I'd like to point out that I did call this ouster last week. Thank you very much.

As for the rest of the episode, so much of the editing has focused on Saboga, I'm getting a bit bored. I think my expectations for this season may have been too high. But, Survivor has always started out a little boring at the beginning of each season. Things usually get more interesting as the groups get smaller. Of course, if Saboga gets any smaller, things are going to be rather boring at Tribal Council:

Probst: One vote Jenna, one vote Jerri. We have another tie. Let's try voting for a 10th time.

Since we've had a bad showing for Saboga in the last two immunity challenges, I'm expecting to see the ol' Distress Signal challenge pulled out to make sure they don't lose again. I can't remember the first season they used this one as an immunity challenge but it was obvious they did so to make sure one tribe didn't go completely down in flames. Might we that again?

As for this week's ouster, I have a bit of insider information I gleaned a while back so unless you want some spoilage, you may want to skip this part:

Jenna is probably going to be leaving voluntarily this week due of the death of her mother.

  • That would be a sucky way to go out. I'm not sure my mother would want me to bail on the game if she were deathly ill; she's a big fan. Oh, if it were Big Brother, I KNOW my mother wouldn't want me to bail out:)

You aren't the only one who isn't totally sickened by Jerri for a change. I think she will actually miss Rudy. I think they all will. Heck, I think Rupert won't be holding a grudge, understanding the logic behind bouncing Rudy (and I expect he may buddy up with Ethan). This vote was entirely logical
    • I'm not sure I agree that Rudy "had" to go. Yes, he was somewhat weak, and a physical liability to the 5-person tribe. Yes, that liability leads to a liability for each of the individuals on the tribe. But if you are truly convinced that he is not the one who deserves to go, then you stick to your pricipals, like Rupert did, and vote that way. Screw the damn challenges.

I mean, they can't let the tribes get too imbalanced or else there's gonna be no point to having challenges. Hubby guesses that they'll be
    • The only problem I had with the whole thing was the very end where Rudy was talking about getting voted off.

Something about "They better watch out for me and my friends..."

Hey Rudy, how old are you like 13 or something? Lighten up old man..
  • I would have written you an e-mail, but you don't have an address listed publicly.

I was wondering if it would upset you terribly if I wrote a JE about the Survivor show Thursday night after it airs.

I don't want to invade your turf -- it was yours first. But a couple-few days later, I can't even remember what happened. My reactions would be best when they're fresh, i.e., right after I've watched the show (or within a couple hours, anyway).

But I won't do it if you'd prefer not. You can respond to this p

    • Wow, thanks for asking. Go right ahead and write a JE. I'll probably go ahead and post my thoughts in my own JE but I'll make sure to include a link to yours.
