EasyC is not a scripting language; it's an IDE for writing in C with the WPIlib library.
It can rookie teams get started pretty quickly, but it's painfully restrictive to work in if you know how to write C.
My team's using Gobby, WPIlib, make, mcc, and ifiloader on EEEPCs.
