A federal law is needed that states the all companies -media, social media, net zines, streaming services, cable companies, podcasters, bricks and mortar, restaurants - can collect customer usage information but they cannot sell or share it to any other company. They also cannot freely give it to governments without a search warrant. The phone companies operate like this. All other companies should too.

Such a new user agreement after many years of service make me wonder what change at Roku. Have users been using them more lately? Have some of the streaming services insisted the arbitration agreement. Is Roku worried about streaming copyrighted material. From a Roku user's point of view if I don't like their service I would simply throw it out like a bad bottle ketchup. This whole issue has me curious.

Microsoft and Bill Gates copied a couple of Unix/Linux command features in each release going back to DOS in the 80s. I remember one of the first DOS releases big new feature was sub-directories. A few releases later the big new features was symbolic links. In the late eighties when MS couldn't get anyone to use their networking protocol, they made a big deal out of adding the TCP/IP stack to their operating system. Now they are adding the sudo command.

All the subreddits I regularly read have gone private. The ones left are just rant reddits. I be spending a lot less time on reddit now.

Come on! For anyone older than 30 if you have problems with your computer who do you ask for help? A Zoomer. They know anything about a computer, smartphone, streaming service, how to set up a podcast or YouTube channel. They know how to MS Office tools, Google Docs tools. They know how to set up and use virtually every kind of social messaging. If they are interested in webpages they learn about it. If they are interested in hardware performance they learn about it. It they are interested in software programming they learn about it. Have I said enough? Gen-Zers may have social skills problems but they DO NOT lack technical skills.

Speech synthesis, speech recognition, natural language understanding, robotic arm kinematics, and basic machine vision were all artificial intelligence. Whenever an AI technology becomes mature enough it is spun off as its own technology. What is left is AI.
