Journal Journal: Official: No connection between Saddam and Osama.
The only real importance of this is that this federally funded think tank, Institute for Defense Analysis. This is an official Pentagon report saying that the prime (probably sole) reason Bush convinced Congress to go to war in Iraq was if not a lie, but completely unfounded.
I'm perfectly convinced that it was a lie, and one that has cost the US more than some know. Anyways, ABC news has some more details.
The report is due to be released Wednesday. It covers 600,000 Iraqi documents, captured in the invasion, interrogations, and other sources.
Even more "amazing" is that the report also states that Saddam was not a threat to anyone but Iraqis: "The predominant targets of Iraqi state terror operations were Iraqi citizens, both inside and outside of Iraq." Saddam's primary aim was self preservation and the elimination of potential internal threats to his power."
So here we are, vindicated. Bush and his administration are manipulative liars and if any pro-Iraq War person gives you lip about it you have a weighty official document to slap them down with, courtesy of the Pentagon.
