Journal Journal: The Final '@%&#'

My Compaq (Akira 1) died today. The power is fried, and there's really nothing I can do. I would move the hard drive over to the other box I have lying around, but it's a Bigfoot, so it won't fit in the case. I salvaged the parts just now, and not a single on of them will work in the other box. My sound, video, and processor were all onboard, and it has some strange form factor, so I can't just move the motherboard. Tomorrow I get to work on upgrading the box I have. It has a 1.5 gig hard drive,

Journal Journal: Still Happy

Now that I've got my cdrom autobooting, I've started to install software. The only problem lies in the fact that a lot of software requires the x server to work. It doesn't. Journal Journal: Install, Damn You!

I'd really like to stop being a Windows user, I would! The last straw was when I had to ctrl-alt-del My Computer. I shouldn't have to bail the desktop out. I was expecting this from most applications, but it's a desktop! So I went to Mandrake Linux, downloaded the iso to their Official 10.0 release, and burned it to a cd. Now, I got no idea what the hell to do with it(I'm really only a geek in training, I have never worked with isos), it doesn't want to boot like I thought it would, and I'm stuc
