My company's official dress code is this:
"When there are customers in the building, you must wear clothes". Considering that we have about 10 buildings and customers only visit ~2 of them, we're golden!
Of course there are the caveats that if you're meeting with customers you should be business casual, and if you're onsite with a customer you should match their dress, up to business formal. Luckily I don't generally meet with customers, so it's bare feet for me 6 months out of the year!
