I signed up with paymybills.com a couple of months ago. The idea of a paperless existence intrigued me.
However, I think this service will need time to mature. I should have thought of this before joining, but most companies (banks) are not smart enough to have one address for your statements and a separate address for everything else. Like, for example, your credit cards.
Both Chase and Citibank refused to change my mailing address, citing security reasons. Paymybills.com says they will immediately forward anything "important." And sure, snail mail isn't secure. But I was very uneasy adding another set of hands opening mail, handling my credit cards, etc.
So, I ended up cancelling the service.
I also used CheckFree for about two years, and loved it. However, I ended up cancelling them because of a service issue. One of my payments got screwed up, and it took three months to resolve. Lots of back and forth between CheckFree and Citibank. The problem was compounded by the fact that sometimes the "electronic" payments CheckFree makes aren't actually electronic to the creditor....they debit your account electronically, then send a check to the creditor. Often, the payment they make is aggregated with many other customers. This makes payment research on the creditor side a pain.
