Comment Are they giving any evidence to supp their claims? (Score 1) 29

I have read the blog post and the "report", and it seems little more than a marketing issue. "We have seen a series of attacks and hence you have to install our defensive software." In total, they are making three claims: 1. Some companies were hacked. 2. It is the same group that had been responsible for hacking SolarWinds some time ago. 3. It is somehow related to one of the Russian state security agencies. I haven't found any evidence to support any of these claims. The claim that there was an attack is not substantiated at all. No IPs of the attackers, no log fragments, nothing. The connection to Russia is only confirmed by US Government officials' words, which is not much of a proof, knowing how much the US is pissed off at Russia. The claim that the group is the same as the one attacking SolarWinds is substantiated by saying that they used the same IP addresses, but none of these addresses are announced, and moreover it would have been incredibly stupid to use the same IPs. I would rather bet that those IPs are unrelated to any cyber security group, but have been hacked ages ago, and are still vulnerable, so anyone can use them.
