This is proof that it's not external/ambient temperature. You can't build sea ice further from the poles and melt polar glaciers without some other influence.

First you obviously did not actually look at the chart I posted. They start Dec 1996 and Jan 1997 well before the ENSO event you are speaking about.

Yes you are quoting the instrumental record which is adjusted, and even so 2014 was only .03 degrees warming, THEY THINK. Even by your instrumental record NASA admits the warming since 1998 is NOT statically significant. To put it another way, the "warming" is well within the margin of error of the data set.

Yes those ACTUAL SCIENTISTS state that the record is .03 degrees. This is ONLY in the instrumental data set which as I stated has been adjusted to hell and back. Satellites do not show that, and they are more accurate SCIENTIFICALLY. .03 degrees is NOT statistically significant to the point that NASA had to back track and say they are only 38% sure that 2014 was the hottest year. The point the Skeptics are making is that it is morally wrong to implement our current plan. We are turning food into fuel while people starve in the name of fighting climate change. There are 1.5 BILLION people living with no power, burning wood and dung for cooking and warmth. We could help them develop with fossil fuels but we don't. Meanwhile the entire plan if successful in cutting 80% emissions would only save ONE TENTH of a degree of warming. We also don't really know how much warming there will be, nor if that is actually dangerous. See Judith Curry's recent testimony before congress.

Most people, politicians and I'm sure the Pope don't understand what the real debate on climate change is.
