Comment non-deterministic outputs mean you can't predict w (Score 1) 22

Am I the only one to cringe when I read "LLMs have non-deterministic outputs, meaning you can't exactly predict what they'll say"? Deterministic doesn't mean that you can predict the outcome. If the process is complex but not random, you always get the same result even though you can't predict it.

It is not at all what they're doing. Their Terms of service specify that they can be changed unilaterally and without prior notice. So, the terms are not guaranteed. Therefore, nobody in their right mind should keep doing business with this company. They just changed their Terms to retroactively hide and remove the fact they couldn't make retroactive changes and "are disappointed" that people complain about it. Because they cannot be trusted, their terms should be set in stone but they are not. Hence this whole fiasco.
