Submission + - Senate grants immunity to telecomm companies

Ktistec Machine writes: The Senate today passed a revised FISA bill that grants retroactive immunity to the telecommunications companies that helped the government illegally tap American network traffic. This effectively puts an end to many lawsuits against these companies. The bill passed by a filibuster-proof majority. (Thanks anyway, Chris Dodd.) We are a nation of affable idiots.
