Many small people, doing many small things, can and DO change the world! We all know that voting does little when your votes are lost, so what else can you do besides sit and grouse about the "state of the union"? Call, email, and send letters (all three) to your representatives about EVERY issue you feel strongly about. Even if it is NOT on a bill or other pending legistlation. When you see legislation that applies to your beleifs, do it all again, on that one issue, and refrence the item/legistlation by name and number if available in every correspondence. Sign petitions on http://www.thepetitionsite.com/ and http://www.care2.com/ Most if not all of these are sent to legistlators upon completion. Sign up for action alerts from http://www.truemajority.org/ and action/activist sites that focus soley on the issues that most concern you. Find infoshops and community peace/activist groups in your area for additional social support and information on more local issues. (Think globally, act locally) Discover more issues by joining any of the plethora of Yahoo groups for activism and/or political change. Even if you believe differently than I do, If we ALL speak out, the majority will get it's way. If you think you are powerless, then you are. There are literally thousands of information outlets out there for any type of action you may wish to take on any issue. If you don't like what's going on, speak out now! The squeaky wheel gets the grease, Now start squeaking!! LOUDER! Together, we can and WILL change the world.
