Im not all that impressed with the Digital tv stuff! its been here for about 2 years and sure its cool to get sattelite image from DMI(Weather service) of the continent with the touch of a button and getting email on the tv is nice too(even if its limited to 25 lines of text, but i suspect thats not so much a tech problem but more like teledk have just decided that people dont need to be able to recive more than 25 emails a week with a max of 25 lines of text each) and the option to buy train tickets and concert tickets ect ect is nice too, but the absolute coolest thing is the TV-Guide i can see what what every channel is going to send in the next 24 hours and more often than not i can also get a description of the programs just by pressing a button, But Other than that IT TOTALLY SUCKS! IT TO SLOW!! it takes close to a sec or 2 for the channel to switch, it dosent sound like much but it is! and to make things worse the cable company (Teledk is refusing to upgrade the net to 2-way) so wenn ever i see something i want to buy i still have to use the phone to call them! and using the cable net for internet acces is not an option unless you want to get one of those crappy hybrid solutions with downstream via the cable and upstream via the phone! in any other country i would suspect that the market itself would force the cable company to upgrade their net but i dont see that happen here, in fact Teledk have openly stated that they would rather see people buying adsl instead of using a cable modem! does this seem sligtly insane? well it isent if you consider that Teledk also owns the phone-net, and the fact that EU have recently threatend Teledk that they migth be forced to sell off the cable section dosent help at all, Now they have just speed up the deployment of the Hybrid cable-modems, so if the cable section is ever sold of! people with hybrid cable modems still have to pay teledk for using the phonelines for upstream traffic! so here in DK if you want a cable modem you have to pay teledk for the phoneline, the cable connection, the acces to the ISP(Teledk Internet)you are not allowed to use any other isp with the cablemodem yet, the cable modem abb. itself(to teledk Cable) and you get charged by the minute by Teledk phone (upstream traffic) too.... all of this makes for some insane prices! but as TELEDK says if you are unhappy you can always use another isp and phone-company its a free market! (the other isps and phone-companies have to pay Teledk for using their phone net ect ect...so far only one isp/phone company other than Teledk have tried to sell an adsl solution but they have been delayed indefinetly because they need to get their equip approved first! approved by who you ask? well TELEDK ofcourse! Dammit! THERE IS SOMETHING ROTTEN IN THE STATE OF......Nevermind!
