I, the customer, am responsible for that job. The customers can make companies rich and big, if I like their product. I want the government to be fair to all companies. Just be neutral.
Also, I am sure when MS was first out, people & government loved them too. Look where we are now. No one can guarantee that Google won't be the next MS.
Did you watch this show? Media/Public tells that girls should be attractive. Media and public make fun of geeks like the guys in that show. This is also one of the reasons why American youth avoids science and math. I came across a show called big bang theory. Not funny at all, but again tells the story of loser nerds and a beautiful young girl which is portrayed as a !loser.
gsa writes "Why do men prefer blonds? Why are most suicide bombers Muslim? Psychology Today analyzes some of these non-politically-correct questions in this essay about ten politically-incorrect truths about human nature. It turns out there may be an evolutionary or psychological explanation for all of these observations. For example, 'Sociologists and demographers have discovered that couples who have at least one son face significantly less risk of divorce than couples who have only daughters. Why is this? ... There is relatively little that a father (or mother) can do to keep a daughter youthful or make her more physically attractive. The continued presence of (and investment by) the father is therefore important for the son, but not as crucial for the daughter. The presence of sons thus deters divorce and departure of the father from the family more than the presence of daughters, and this effect tends to be stronger among wealthy families.'"Update: 07/08 05:51 GMT by Z:Removed sentence that misquoted article.

Bennett Haselton writes "Parties have reached a settlement in Joel Hodgell vs. EFinancial LLC, an
anti-spam case in which I got involved because after Joel sued the
defendant over spams he had received, the defendant asked the judge to make
Joel turn over a copy of his hard drive." That might not sound that strange until you realize that the case in question was over webmail that was obviously never actually stored on his hard drive. And the witnesses knew it.

An anonymous reader writes, "Novell has published additional details about its agreements with Microsoft concerning Windows and Linux interoperability and patents. It seems the company is receiving an up-front payment of $348 million from Microsoft, for SLES subscription certificates and for patent cross-licensing. Microsoft will make an upfront payment to Novell of $240 million for SLES subscription 'certificates' that Microsoft can use, resell, or distribute over the term of the agreement. Regarding the patent cooperation agreement, Microsoft will make an up-front net payment to Novell of $108 million, and Novell will make ongoing payments totaling at least $40 million over five years to Microsoft."
