I like to read something light and funny. Douglas Coupland and David Sedaris are a couple of my favorite authors. Douglas Adams' "Hitchhiker" series is always a home-run (even if it's the 10th time you've read it).
Obviously the energy giants are combining forces to defame the scientists and destroy the technology. What a weekend, Duke Nukem Forever and Cold Fusion both confirmed!!!!
the death of an internet meme? Well, maybe I shouldn't get ahead of myself. They should have held out for a December 20th, 2012 release date and really freak people out when they actually released it. Maybe their plan is to keep letting the date slip until then.
She obviously believes that the people that live near her (and would have seen the panties walking past) are not sexual predators, but that foreigners are going to seek her out after seeing her panties on google maps. I want to sue her back for acting on predjudice, aka Hate Crime, I'm just saying...
Weird. My high school had keyboarding class in the business courses, where it belongs. We had a real programming class (albeit an introductory programming class). Most of my (Canadian) classmates in University had also taken high school programming classes previously. I wonder if this is an American trend? Anyone from Canada experience this gross mis-labeling?
I hacked my netbook so I would have a caps-lock key. I jammed silly putty down the side of the shift key to hold it down for me. Next release will include toggle functionality (considering an easily removable alternative like wood chip to jam the key down).
I would argue that your argument supports the contrary. If training implies intelligence, then why are large percentages of those employed in jobs which are not typically "trained positions" in the higher end of the intellectual spectrum (let's say theoretical physics for an example) and the drooling morons work in call centers and fast food joints where training is a huge part of the job? You could probably train a monkey to flip burgers, but I am not so sure that I would trust a monkey's insights into the universe.
When I was a kid I was too scared to swear because there was a genuine threat that I would get a good smack. There is no fear anymore, that is why the newest generations are largely delinquent.
