OLPC 2.0 — One Laptop Foundation Reboots 187

Greg Huang writes "In early January, the One Laptop Per Child Foundation laid off half its staff and shed work on the Sugar graphical interface. Now, OLPC founder Nicholas Negroponte and president Chuck Kane for the first time detail the foundation's new plans, describe how the XO laptop will do what netbooks can't do, and share their hope to keep working with Sugar developer Walter Bender, who left OLPC last year."

Sadly, I do honestly wonder what additional changes will be a part of the DVD release. So very many movies come out as 'special' dvd editions differing somewhat, sometimes greatly, from the versions we all saw in the theater. After what Lucas did with the special editions a few years back I am certainly even less enthused about this upcoming DVD release.

If we can't get the Han shoots first version hopefully we'll get at least the Geedo shoots first version an nothing else changed.
