Ah, yes. IA64 - that would be Itanium. You probably mean x86_64 or amd64.

I may be a bit biased, but it's a lot better than what America has going and (almost) all votes will flow on to other candidates via preferences. Number 1 - X, and if your number 1 doesn't get enough votes your preferences flow onto candidate 2 and so on. Direct your preference flow to whoever you would like. It gives meaning to voting for a minor party (they still get votes / funding for next election depending on first preferences) but allows your vote to count by preferencing your choice of major party so they also get your votes.

Now, AT&T is proposing another alternative: fast lanes under consumer control. Their idea would "allow individual consumers to ask that some applications, such as Netflix, receive priority treatment over other services, such as e-mail or online video games. That's different from the FCC's current proposal, which tacitly allows Internet providers to charge content companies for priority access to consumers but doesn't give the consumers a choice in the matter." AT&T sayd, "Such an approach would preserve the ability of Internet service providers to engage in individualized negotiations with [content companies] for a host of services, while prohibiting the precise practice that has raised 'fast lane' concerns." It's not perfect, but it's probably the first earnest attempt at a compromise we've seen from either side, and it suggests the discussion can move forward without completely rejecting one group's wishes.

The chip is used in some of Unisys' ClearPath flagship mainframes, but the company is moving to Intel's x86 chips in Libra and Dorado servers in the ClearPath line. The aging CMOS chip will be "sunsetted" in Libra servers by the end of August and in the Dorado line by the end of 2015. Dorado 880E and 890E mainframes will use the CMOS chip until the servers are phased out, which is set to happen by the end of 2015.

intellitech writes: This will make a lot of you feel better. Groklaw is reporting that both parties have come up with a stipulation in Sony Computer Entertainment American v. Hotz regarding what Hotz must do about handing over his computers. The new Preliminary Injunction (PDF) now says that he is to turn his materials over to a "neutral" third party, not to SCEA's lawyers, and after the neutral party combs through them, it all is returned to Hotz. All but whatever they "segregate" out of them. He won't get that back until the end of the litigation, should he prevail, which this court at least currently thinks is less likely than that Sony will. There will be a hearing on Hotz's motion to dismiss on April 8, 2011.

I have a bit of a mixed opinion of this - Certainly it's useful on untrusted websites... but I often have to use firefox with various exchange webmail servers... All using self-signed certificates. It gets slightly annoying... But at the same time, I'd rather be asked about accepting self-signed certificates than not... Perhaps Something similar to the IE7 warning page is in order?
