Journal Journal: Sata Hard Drives And Linux

Ok here I go with my 'rant' for some reason i bought a sata drive they are wickedly fast and look great in a window'd case. I was using windows but thought ya ill go back to linux now just because. then i find that theres no drivers modules etc for SATA in linux.... WHY!? hell if i know anyhow aparently both Promise and Silicone Image see it fit that theres a Sata drive but only in a packaged format for redhat (and mandrake) and suse. now this angers me what about the other population that uses distro's other than redhat and suse? Secondly why isnt it already in the linux kernel? Ok thats my rant comment if you like. Promise's Site
