Microsoft Patches "Google Hack" Flaw In IE 142

Mostly, when I first upgraded to Karmic, I had problems with the applications I had on there. Most applications that used any kind of sound crashed on start, with an error relating to the registry I can't remember anymore. It had some sound issues with the programs that didn't crash as well. However, I did quickly dispatch these problems by downloading a disc of 9.10 and doing a fresh install. That fixed everything right away, now I have no problems with the Koala.

Speed, Acid3 compliance, JavaScript rendering capabilities, and general subjective usability were all tested and reviewed. So were Opera Mini and the default Symbian browser, but these two were unable to complete some of the tests and benchmarks."

An anonymous reader writes "Cenzic released its report revealing the most prominent types of Web application vulnerabilities for the first half of 2009. The report identified over 3,100 total vulnerabilities, which is a 10 percent increase in Web application vulnerabilities compared to the second half of 2008. Among Web browsers, Mozilla Firefox had the largest percentage of Web vulnerabilities, followed by Apple Safari, whose browser showed a vast increase in exploits, due to vulnerabilities reported in the Safari iPhone browser." It seems a bit surprising to me that this study shows that only 15% of vulnerabilities are in IE.

I had recently switched to Ubuntu and found, obviously, that my previous program was not compatible with it. So I spent the first 3 days of my project trying to figure out the new one. Boring.

While I think Google Maps Street View is a nice way to view a neighborhood, I think it also opens up some people for attack, making it all that much easier to find their house, and the neighbor's houses too; so I think there could be a charge against Google.
