Comment Level 1 charging disadvantages and danger (Score 1) 196

Level 1 charging is more like 1.44kw/h not 1.9kw/h because you should not exceed 80% of the capacity of a 15A circuit so 12A * 120V and at that rate charging an empty EV battery is around 2 days so not very practical. While this situation is not typical it can happen , that's why I have level 2 charging at home and a full recharge is around 8 hours. Also charging at level 1 is not very safe in the long run due to the premature deterioration of the 120V outlet due to constant heating, many cases of burned plugs with level 1 charging have occured , it's a lot safer to use a more robust charging system.

Comment Canada cannot supply the US. (Score 1) 83

As a Canadian I object to supply drugs to the US because it will cause shortages and price increase here , we simply don't have the capacity to supply a market 10 times larger than ours. Americans should fix their drug costs instead of trying to supply themself from us. In any case the Canadian goverment will block large sale of drugs outside of our country to protect our own market not whitstanding any law the US passes to allow imports from Canada. It's high time the US politicians puts a stop to the greed of the American drug companies , it used to be that companies where happy with making a decent profit but now they are making truely indecent profits at the expense of everybody and it's not justified by any R&D costs .

Comment It makes no difference to the average Canadian (Score 1) 71

This will have almost no effect on the average Canadian as we go to the usual Canadian news websites for news , however Google and Meta will loose the opportunity to send us ads so I wonder how long they will tolerate the lost of profit from ads ? As far as I am concerned good riddance ! less ads for Canadians.
