I can totally see why companies would be pissed, they got caught. It isn't that they were really breaking the law, but they were severely undermining it. An effective tax rate of only 2.3% really? That's not what taxes are made for. They are designed to serve the country by providing revenue to the government to fulfill its obligations to the people. So some companies are going to have to make some changes to compete against the rest of the world. That's an important part of business being able to innovate, adapt, and change with the seasons. Offshoring can help big companies, but it hurts our people and our economy.

I recently just read that Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails had his bands application rejected as well. Something to do with the song content or the video content. Either way it was a first glance judgment call by whatever approval team exists. What Reznor seems to be saying is that the iTunes store carries all the same songs, but are fully available and uncensored, so why not the iPhone. It does seem really hypocritical to me to have one and not the other. However, apple does have the right to keep "obscene" things off of its devices if it can (no porn, or anything is one of em), but obscene lyrics? Apple sounds to be a little to cookie cutter, sell u drugs around the corner to me.

eBooks sound like great idea, and I'm sure they work wonders for some people especially the higher you go academically. However, doesn't it seem that these separate devices are soon to be pointless given the combined functionality of everything else? Like the loss of the PDA, tiny camera, mp3 player, and more all before the iphone/blackberry/smartphone genre could handle an ebook function easily. or am I wrong?
