Comment As a smoker... (Score 1) 281

As a smoker, I've noticed a massive loss of appetite in the past few months. I never was a big eater, but now I'm hard pressed to finish a meal when I go out. A few other friends of mine (also smokers), have exhibited the same things. Correlation doesn't equal causation, but when my health and activity remain otherwise the same, and my appetite changes, one has to wonder. I think it's time to switch over to hand-rolling. I've been debating getting an injector for a while now. This may very well be the straw that breaks it.

It's been pretty good here in NE from a "not having to do much work" standpoint. It hasn't been until recently that there's been enough snow for good winter sports, however. The only trouble is that I have to snowblow half the street. The city plows stay about eight feet from the curb on both sides, so that it's impossible to pass, or even have two way traffic, on some roads. It's worsened by people who feel they are still entitled to park in the road. It turns driving into a high-speed slalom meets chicken.

Until I read this, I used D'Addario strings on my guitar. Now that I see their name on that list, I will never use them again. Thankfully, I don't make use of any of the products of those other companies. That being said, there is no way to "vote with your wallet" anymore, because the corporations control everything, and shy of living an agrarian life in the middle of nowhere, your money will end up in their hands. Even if people on the whole turned against them, buying only locally made products, etc, the corporations would just lobby to have their way, and get it.
