I think it's a credible rumor. Why? Because the overall percentage of iPhone consumers who are photo pros is fairly small. While a photographer will know about and be concerned with sensor size/resolution vs. quality of lens, your average iPhone consumer will only know that 'more pixels' = 'better'. You can let the photo buffs grumble all they want but more pixels = bigger selling point to most iPhone buyers. Real pros aren't using their phones as a camera.

In addition to that, it's silly to talk about oil production in terms of domestic vs. foreign. The market for crude oil is global, not local. If B.P. goes tits-up the price per barrel of oil is affected everywhere not - just in Britain or the US.

Boycotting individual oil companies is nearly meaningless. Instead we as a culture need to reduce our reliance on petroleum itself to levels compatible with our conscious and climate.

Quality control is the perfect term for some aspects of genetic research. As of this week, quality control is trul possible for humans. Parents invevitably, even understandably, will seek perfect children.

Great hyperbole, but "quality control" as you define it, already happens today in the forms of ultrasound scans, amniocentisis, and other prenatal testing.

Yes, but testing after the sperm and egg are well into embryohood is a completely different proposition from being able to test, and evenually alter, a human zygote.
