driving to Maine? (Score 1)

so this is the first night I read any of your journal entries and I have one question... if your ultimate goal is Maine and you started in Georgia, then why on earth wouldn't you take the most direct, natural and economical path! It begins in your own backyard! (figuratively) That's right my friend... the beloved AT. I mean as much fun as a solo road trip is for a week, just imagine how much greater it would have been to commune with nature for 6 months and still reach your destination. A point to ponder...
