OH Senate Passes Bill Banning Human-Animal Hybrids 197

An anonymous reader writes "The sci-fi movie Splice seems to have scared the Ohio's State Senator Steve Buehrer. The Ohio Senate has passed Sen. Buehrer's bill banning 'the creation, transportation, or receipt of a human-animal hybrid, the transfer of a nonhuman embryo into a human womb, and the transfer of a human embryo into a nonhuman womb.' So much for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."

Cambridge, Mass. Moves To Nix Security Cameras 366

An anonymous reader writes "Citing privacy concerns, the Cambridge, Mass. City Council has voted 9-0 to remove security cameras scattered throughout the city. 'Because of the slow erosion of our civil liberties since 9/11, it is important to raise questions regarding these cameras,' said Marjorie Decker, a Cambridge city councilor. Rather than citing privacy, WCBVTV is running the story under the headline 'City's Move To Nix Security Cams May Cost Thousands.'"

Recovering a Wrecked RAID 175

Dr. Eggman writes "Tom's Hardware recently posted an article specifying how the professionals at Kroll Ontrack recover data from a RAID array that has suffered a hard drive failure, allowing for recovery of even RAID 5 arrays suffering two failures. The article is quick to warn this is costly, however, and points out the different types of hard drive failures that occur, only some of which are repairable. Ultimately the article concludes that consistent backups and other good practices are the best solution. Still, it provides an interesting look into the world of data after death."

A graphically-updated version of Mario Bros. was included with every single GBA game with Mario in it(well, the Mario Advances and M&L Superstar Saga) and that didnt' stop Nintendo from re-releasing that.

i was under the same impression, until i actually got a gba, and bought a few of the mario advance games...in fact, the mario game included on all of those cartriges is "mario classic". it is not Super Mario Bros. from NES, but is (apparently) an old arcade game, more in the lines of the old Donkey Kong. so when they came out with SMB1 for gba, i was quite happy to drop $20 on it.
