The reason they disallow saved on as cards is because they is how you can install homebrew on the Wii and Wii u. Thy want to keep switch locked as long as possible.
It isn't easy being the parent of a six-year-old. However, it's a pretty small price to pay for having somebody around the house who understands computers.
