Journal Journal: I finally have a reason to complain about moderation 1

So I happened to check on /. right as a story goes live. I figure, wow, I'm early, might try to be funny, since I think I can make a so/so joke.

Since it went up to +4 funny, those three ups gave moderators three opportunities to use -1 overrated and -1 redudancy (the time stamp was the SAME as the other green light joke!), and now my lowly karma has dropped a rating. Damn you, +1 funny! Damn you!

I've seen the suggestions in journals and signatures to use +1 karma mods (underrated, interesting, etc) on funny posts until the moderation is fixed, but it really hits home when it finally happens to you. :(

Journal Journal: Brakes

Well, the 93-99 911 is out now since CarMax lowballed an appraisal. Looks like the BMW will stay my daily driver, which isn't all pad, because it is really nice to drive - 29 mpg from a 2.8 litre six, nice acceleration, splendid handling... However, it now indicates that in addition to thin rotors, the pads are on their way out. I think I will try to do it myself; I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and it's gotta be easier to swap out brakes than to get the computer to recognize the wireless access point under Linux. Wish me luck.

Journal Journal: Since my journal sucks...

I will open this up to a discussion of what my next vehicle should be. I'm currently driving a '99 328i, but am thinking of going "all out" (for me, anyways), and stepping up to a 95-99 vintage 911. Or a Boxster. Or keeping my 328. Or getting an '00+ 3 series. Coupe.

This is up for discussion as my wife will be getting herself a Mini, and there are some options as to what we could trade in. All stuff to think about as I try to figure out priorities over the next few years - bigger house, fancier cars, or just a huge tv.

Journal Journal: Woo hoo! Moderated!

I finally got some mod points. As an avid lurker, it was fun to participate...although I did miss out one of the points thanks to misinterpreted 'three days'. :-P
