Hate CU (Score 1)

I have been playing for about 9 months. I started playing SWG because I liked the lack of the cookie cutter feel that many other games have implemented. if you are such and such, you can only do blank, blank and blank. SWG was different. You could mix and match to perfect a character that you liked. I got a character that I liked up to Master Pistoleer about two days before the CU went in. My experiences since then have all been negative. I can no longer hunt with my Master Pistoleer who was on her way to becoming a Jedi. Every time that I have tried taking a mission, I get killed. I got incapped by two savage humbabas, creatures that I would have easily killed before the CU. SOE is now saying that because I am a pistoleer I only have a set choice of armors (most of which are unavailable or quest related). Also for all that flavor in armor choices, I get really Ubese Tan or Ubese Brown. Wow, I have light blue composite that looked really nice before the CU. ::scratches head:: This is suppose to make me look different than which other Pistoleer? First, I wish everyone would quit calling it the combat upgrade. It was not a combat upgrade but an obvious adoption of the engine from EQ2. Why make something when you already have something made? Except the EQ2 (which I played for a week and quit) is not what made SWG different. You cannot be a good crafter and a good combatant in SWG. You are one or the other. There are now artisans, chefs, tailors, etc who can't get from Point A to Point B to shop at merchants because the shop is surrounded by aggressive creatures and they have no armor. Was a combat upgrade needed? No, the game need balanced! We didn't need or want a new game. Players told them this and they were ignored. Was this handled well by marketing for SOE? No, this will be their worst nightmare. We were given originally about 5 hours warning on Bria and then after protests were held, we were given 24 hours before the upgrade went in. Boy, May 5th came faster on SOE's calendar than on mine. I show May 1st TOMORROW! If you were out of town or busy for a day, you were out of luck. I have played DAOC, Gemstone and many other online games and this was plain inconsiderate of SOE. Was this ready to be put out? Considering that every time I use the shuttle I lose all my waypoints, I would say not. There are so many bugs, I wouldn't even want to start listing them. It goes from Docs to BEs to the combatant classes. Have I considered cancelling my account? YES! Have I cancelled getting Rage of the Wookies? I am the biggest Obi-Wan fan and they could give me one of his lightsabers and not just a copy of his mount and I wouldn't buy it. If it is even half as buggy as this release, it is not worth the money. My advice to potential new players: SOE is proving that the players are unimportant to the management and developers. They took a shortcut out and it is coming around to bite them. This is one time guys that the Java adage of use what is available and improve on it doesn't work. Give us a repaired SWG, not Everquest in Space.
