Journal Jack William Bell's Journal: Anita on the Air 4

My wife was a phone-in guest on National Public Radio (NPR) today! The topic was weblogs and the other guests were celeb blogger Mickey Kaus of Slate and Matthew Baldwin of 'Defective Yeti'. You can find Anita's link-laden entries on the experience here and here.

Give it a listen. It's not every day someone this close to me gets their fifteen minutes of fame!

Update: I forgot to mention that one of the callers (when they got to the call-in talk-show portion of the show) referred to Anita as the 'Den Mother of Seattle Blogdom'... Heh!

  • Will listen to it once I get my nightly fix of sleep :)

  • strictly speaking, Weekday is a local show. still very prestigious, I know!
    • You did handle the interview quite well, I must say. Interesting, that distinction between journals and weblogs. What would you think Slashdot journals come under?

It's called a journal but you do get people commenting - mostly fellow Slashdotters, but that's not a necessary condition.

      Regards,

      • I think you could go either way with slashdot journals. The format is more webloggish, but people certainly use them for both purposes. It's never a hard and fast line; you get weblogs with entries about the author's daily life sometimes, and I posted entries in Anita's BOD (Book of Days) that were very blog-like, pointing to noteworthy web-stuff (usually because I'd done nothing that day but wanted to post an entry). It might be the connections you make that make the difference, whether you have a sidebar

You can't take damsel here now.
