Jack William Bell's Journal: Short road trip

OK, in my last entry I was talking about how I am driving 2,500 miles back to Seattle. Well actually I ended up driving only a hundred or so miles. Why? Because, while I was packing up, I got a telephone call from my agency: Could I do a three month (possibly longer) contract in Grand Rapids MI?

Uh... Yeah. Work is work.

So the good news is that I am still working. The bad news is that I don't get to go home and be with my wife and family. Hopefully Anita will come out here next month, at least for a while.

The other bad news is that you folk don't get the promised road-trip updates. But I will try to get back to a regular posting schedule soon. Right now I need to find a place to stay.

Hey, now you can come to Penguicon!

The Grand Rapids area is pretty neat. Make sure you check out Saugatuck and Holland while you're there, as well as the sculpture gardens in Grand Rapids proper.

Oh yeah, I will be at Penguicon. I was selling my membership, but had to tell the guy buying it that I was reneging on the deal.

So now I need to contact their programming poohbah and tell him that I will be available to host a scotch tasting after all!
