...Uh... you're... clearly not very well informed? Just 10 companies hold something like 70% of the worldwide market for game development. And that number has been steadily increasing for the last decade as big publishers buy out small studios. It's also no longer really possible to compete with the big boys, without MAJOR financial backing. Sure, you can make small indie games with a small team. But those don't hold significant market share. And big games now require massive budgets, ones the match to exceed the sort of budgets you see for Hollywood blockbusters. Mind you, in this specific case, SOMEONE needs to buy out Activision-Blizzard as their corporate culture is a cesspool. And Microsoft actually has a positive reputation for how it handles the studios it has acquired. Still, your assertion that no one can control the video game market is naive at best.

This seems to fall firmly under the "No shit, Sherlock" sort of realization. I mean, as an author, someone looking at my search history would probably get the impression that I'm a serial killer astrophysicist, who likes long walks through the red light district with a nun, a rabi, and a Shinto priest.
