Mobeewave, the company that created the system with Samsung, was subsequently acquired by Apple and the result is what was announced today.

Apple would tell you whatever suits their purposes, and you will believe it because nobody questions Apple lest they be crucified by the faithful. They tell you the App Store is 100% secure and you believe it. They tell you the iPhone is 100% private and you believe it. They tell you they take 30% of every transaction because they deserve it and you believe it. They tell you the walled garden is for your benefit and you believe it.

It's all about extracting every last cent from your pocket, that's what it's about.

Claims a report published in a major newspaper is likely an "Apple hit job", yet claims anecdotally that "the Android system is literally infested with scamware" then gets butthurt and checks out when the BS is called out. Pretty typical Apple cultist, as far as I'm concerned.

For a site that used to be about user rights and freedom, there are an awful lot of people on here that would be quite happy to hand Apple control over every goddamn thing they do or see.

I want nothing to do with Apple because I don't want one company to control everything I can do and everything I can see while paying more for the privilege.

I'm not an iOS user, so this is a serious question. Does Apple's "Find My" system ask the user if they want to give it permission to use location data, or does it just automatically get it? 'Cause special privileges for Apple's software and "screw you" to third-party software seems to me to be heading in a pretty anti-trusty direction, particularly when Apple can copy anyone's ideas and make it "work better" by fucking them over however they see fit.

If I'm going to have to adjust to a new interface, why do I care if it's Photoshop or another application like Affinity Photo? Based on my experience, for most users the familiarity of Photoshop is a large part of the appeal. People tend to stick with what they know.
