This is probably a fancy neighborhood that requires all cables to be buried. In my neighborhood the wires are on telephone poles. After purchasing my house they just ran a new fiber from the pole to the house for free. I suspect if it had to be a buried wire then I would not have gotten that service.

Comment Unfortunately the legacy ring service will go away (Score 1) 28

Unfortunately with this announcement the legacy ring security option will be phased out by 2025 for existing customers. So basically the pricing will double and the only benefit I see is a backup cellular router with only 3GB limit before additional charges are added. No real benefit for those of us who do not need this router.

They are not announcing them because they are afraid of losing the addresses. There is something else going on here. Large corporations are hoarding /8s and /16s without announcing them on the Internet. I suspect Donald's buddy owns this company and they will sell these IPs for profit someday.

Comment HZ does not equal FPS (Score 1) 75

FPS and refresh rate (Hz) are not the same thing, nor are they linked. FPS is the number of frames per second the software is processing, while Hz is the rate at which the hardware in the monitor is refreshing the display. They are two independent functions, and you will see a difference in animation quality with more FPS. So the answer is 120FPS will be better than 60FPS on a 60Hz display.
