Journal IgnorantKnucklehead's Journal: Cars should be banned in cities 6

Cars should be banned in cities. The justification is simple:
(1) Cars create air pollution, and air pollution is one of the biggest problems in cities;
(2) Cars create noise pollution, and noise pollution is one of the biggest problems in cities;
(3) Cars require a lot of real estate (roads, parking lots, etc), and lack of real estate is one of the biggest problems in cities;
(4) Cars kill people, and killing people is one of the biggest problems in cities.

It's pretty simple, really. Besides, you have a fat ass and could probably use the exercise of having to walk a few blocks to get to your destination.

Cars should be banned in cities

  • Well, I'd have to say I disagree with you. None of the reasons you gave have me convinced that we should ban the use of cars in cities. To the contrary, the cars aren't the problem. People are. We should ban them instead.
  • You have absolutely no idea what it's like to live in a city, do you? Or worse yet, to live outside of a city and have to commute. Public transportation in the US isn't nearly good enough to allow this sort of system to work. What if I want to leave at 5:15, and the bus that runs to my home only runs once an hour at 5 and 6? I have to spend 45 minutes jacking off in the subway bathroom before my ride home gets there. Since I can only jack off for 25 minutes at best, that gives me 20 minutes to waste where I can't even jack off! If you think the American Public is going to spend a whole 20 minutes not jacking off, you've got another thing coming (no pun intended). If you ban cars from metropolitan areas, we'll end up with more dirty bathrooms, more pregnant teens, and more software and music piracy! You must be a Commie.
  • I suspect you work for the RIAA. Cars have nothing to do with music piracy. If you really want to stop people from downloading songs they don't own, the best solution is to make general-purpose computers illegal, and only allow function-specific hardware devices to be manufactured. This is similar to the situation in Canada, where they have socialized medicine. You should check it out!
    • When it comes to function-specific devices, ATI makes much better ones than nVidia. Sure, nVidia has better drivers, but if ATI hires some good coders (from nVidia?), they'll be far ahead.
