It isn't just the UI, though. Let me tell you a tale of a program called Aptare. Aptare integrates with damned near anything and pulls status updates, usage metrics.. etc, etc. Management loves this because they can make pretty billing graphs with it. So. Here's what it takes to upgrade Aptare on the Windows side: Download new package. Right-click. Run as Administrator. Provide credentials. Watch progress bar. Test. Elapsed time for a full revision update: 20 minutes. Here's what it takes to upgrade Aptare on the Linux side Log into Linux box. Download updated package. Figure out how to mount package for use. Copy portions of result to three separate machines (Windows does this automatically). Verify Kernel is fully updated. Verify all package dependencies manually. Resolve package discrepancies. Pray that updating the packages to Aptare compliance doesn't FSCK anything else that box does. Verify that Oracle SQL is fully patched and is FULLY compliant with the Aptare revision. Verify that the MSSQL database is FULLY updated and patched, and compliant with the new Aptare revision. Run pre-install verification script. Mitigate any results found. Quiesce the Oracle Database. Queisce the MSSQL database. Run the installation script. Pray it doesn't fsck the Oracle DB. If any errors come up, you must immediately abort the install and resolve those errors. Then start over. Until Linux figures out a way to make updating applications easier.. so you CAN actually update packages without FSCK-ing anything else.. Say what you will about Microsoft. Is it Evil? Yes. Is it bloated? Definitely. Is it efficient? No, not really. It generally needs a lot more resources to accomplish a task than a Linux box performing similar. But. It. Works. It doesn't require a PhD in anything to actually function and be maintainable. You don't have to be on the Autism spectrum to understand what it wants, what it needs to work. Drivers are plentiful. Support is plentiful. Support is -EASIER- in many cases. These are the tasks that Linux must CATCH UP TO MICROSOFT IN in order to truly take over.

You know.. when she left her constituents at the gathering so she could go on an emotional meltdown? You know.. when she had to be practically FORCED to give a concession speech, since she didn't have a single shred of evidence to support the lawsuits she wanted to file.. but couldn't? Trump at least HAS proof of voting improprieties.. from the software glitch, to the Pennsylvania Democrats keeping them 25-100 feet away from the ballot counting, assuming they were allowed in at all.. to the thousands of dead people voting Democrat in Nevada... to videos of Democrats boarding up ballot counting locations so they couldn't be observed. You know.. that sort of thing? Look, I don't really like Trump either. I didn't vote for him. But this country is so terribly divided, that Biden -MUST- have a clean win. So.. all avenues must be pursued. All investigations done, all evidence investigated and validated or debunked. Otherwise, the election simply isn't going to be accepted and you'll have nearly half the country raging for the next five years that the election had been stolen. You know... like the Democrats in 2016. Except this time, with evidence.

What lack of games? MechWarrior Online World of Warcraft Cyberpunk 2077 I could keep going, but I don't see the need. CD Projekt Red said flat out they are not going to make a Linux native version. Moreover, due to asshats in the Linux userbase, they aren't willing to help with getting it to run in Wine. WoW runs well under wine but Blizzard didn't do it, the players did. That's my point. The gaming companies don't write many AAA titles native for Linux. Many won't help with a Linux port due to low user numbers... the money slash incentive ain't there. Want to play a game, and there's a substantial chance that you will have to wait until some genius in Linux ALSO want to play, and writes a wine wrapper. THAT, in addition to the toxicity of the Linux userbase, is why Linux will never, ever, ever rule the desktop. P.S. Yes, there are those that do help on Linux forums, but you are vastly more likely to get a 'LOL nub. Go back to Windows! RTFM' instead of help.

The lack of games is. Does Linux have games? Yes. Does Linux have the SAME games that Windows does? No. While WINE / Lutris / etc have made impressive leaps and bounds, they cannot successfully run games like Mechwarrior Online (even if you wanted to.. why?). Or if it can, it's not without a LOT of tweaking and sacrificing of time, etc. What drove Windows to prominence is that it's... simple. Load. Go. The vast majority of computer users can't wrap their head around having to do ten different commands/steps for installation of a game: Download the .rpm from the repository, possibly needing to do a make install, etc, etc. Possible modifying different configurations elsewhere.. or in the event of using a Windows program on a Linux box, having to set up a WINE Prefix, etc, etc. They've been trained to 'plug and play'.., not in the case of Linux: 'Plug and PRAY'. They're used to putting something on, and having it work straight out of the box. What's making Linux difficult to push in an Office environment is that the gamers grew up and became office workers.. and they brought that mentality of 'It just needs to WORK' with them. Until Linux can match the breadth of Windows games with the ease of Windows installations... Linux won't take over the desktop market. The INSTANT it does, however.. Windows is -DONE FOR-. -H

I can see the lawyers gathering now, and subpoenas for the perpetrators' real names and contact information being drafted now...
