When I asked ChatGPT for some code, it simulated typing it out, line by line. When I googled the code, it was just an example from a Microsoft programming example with no changes..

I'd love to see an actual real-life example of AI coding or AI Assisted coding starting from an idea to a finished program. It may be an 8 hour YouTube stream or have some one do an edited example (editing out all the time the programmer looks something up on Google!). I really want to see what AI actual does that works.
I have clients still running NUC's from 2014 (upgraded to Win 10 and more than the original 30GB SSD and 1 GB ram). Sold a lot of them and had very little issues. Great for office pc's with some RAM (4-8GB's) and 128 to 256 SSD where all the data is on the server..
Dual screen, wired (or WIFI) and 4 USB ports - perfect for an office worker. I'll miss them.
Looks like the future has no human interaction - even Facetime is fake. No sharing of a space for couples/families? Cool for when you are alone, but maybe only for a few hours a week, not most of my day.
Man, I was excited when Byte came in in at over 500 pages!! Weeks of reading. Another fave was Boardwatch in the BBS and early ISP days. I kept those around for years as references. Even just for the ads.
Try buying laptops or business pc/servers right now. It has been tough (here in Canada) as the big wholesalers (Ingram Micro and Synnex) just keep a little stock. Everything else has to come from California, or even Taiwan.
It's been slow for while now (Intel NUC's) and now everything shows out of stock/on order. I'm scrambling to get laptops (that aren't $1500+) for all thew new remote workers.
Yeah, I smiled for the 2 I passed in North York this morning as well.
I don't even like a background image on my desktop. Just a blank blue colour and a few key icons for programs and shortcuts to data.
Mc-Afee not MAC-A-fee
If you don't own your server, you don't own your data.
At least people will stop pronouncing it "MACAfee"
She draws over 6 meters! That alone eliminates most of the places in the world I'd want to visit by boat.

I don't think "3d" will work until you can actually change your focus to different depths, just like in the real world.
You can find them, but they're expensive and harder and harder to find.
Where there's a will, there's a relative.
