The 3 Copies Rule + Restore test (Score 2)

A backup solution must enforces the 3 copies rule for a complete protection. Copy No1 is always Online and Onsite by definition. It is the copy accessed by the users Copy No2 must be offsite to protect against physical threats Copy No3 must be offline to protect against logical threats Also, all backups are broken until they are proven functional by a complete restore test. For that reason, at least once a year, a full restore must be achieved to confirm everything is in order. Miss any of the 3 copies or the restore test and a single incident may loose you everything.
