Comment Re: Electric grid possible problems? (Score 1) 223

The issue is that while heat pumps are more efficient at providing heat per unit of energy input, the energy input is electricity. Where I live electricity is 3x cost of gas, so it is more expensive to run a heat pump, even if the heat pump is 100% more efficient. And that is before you factor in the cost of retrofitting the 22mm piping and new radiators to distribute the low grade heat the heat pumps provide.

What a disgraceful comment. Desecration of graves is not the way to go about political change. Behaving so odiously is a great way to signal terrible judgement unworthy of support. If you treat the quiet dead who you disagreed with like a toilet, how badly will you treat your living critics?

There is no nuance in what I wrote. The Wye and Severn estuaries are prime examples of the blighted state of British rivers. Stop trying to pretend like you changed my mind. A pathetic, pedantic and cretinous creature like yourself couldnâ(TM)t change a face mask.

I live between the river Wye and Severn.. Once these were a salmon rivers, supporting a thriving local fishery. Now the salmon are all but gone. When I go into the estuary at low tide I find raw sewage, tampons, toilet products. The ancient art of lave-net fishing was a sustainable local method of harvesting the salmon. Now the local lave net fishermen are not permitted to take even a single fish because the salmon numbers are so perilously close to extinction. The river is a near dead stinking dumping ground for filth. Tell me again how great Englandâ(TM)s rivers are. https://www.gov.uk/government/...

What the report actually says once you get past the cheery headline- The Thames, like every single one of Englandâ(TM)s rivers, remains utterly wrecked, polluted by agricultural runoff and sewage spilled from an overloaded Victorian sewage infrastructure.
