There's no easy way, in my experience. I've known some users that will fight tooth & nail over deletion of any kind of data, citing that they need it, when they haven't touched it for months or years. The only thing I've ever found to remotely work (and it requires full support of upper management--which is not usually likely, but you may be able to get if you explain the cost savings, both in your time saved, and in smaller amounts of hardware--include the extra time required to back up data sitting on usb drives at each person's desk), is to enact a firm disk quota on space for users, and if they run out of room (you can set it to email them when they're close to running out of space), they have to either delete old stuff, offer it up for archive (remind them that archiving data doesn't mean "deleted forever"--if a file that really wasn't being used anymore suddenly needs to be returned to active duty, it can be pulled out of mothballs), or submit a business case (which you should make clear would need approval from both you & management) explaining the need for more space, and why it is so important for them to keep xx files out of archive and in active shared space. This won't make you popular with the other departments, but then, this is not a popularity contest, it is a struggle to keep data backed up & manageable, all the while keeping costs down.

DISCLAIMER: I may be a republican, but I had no joy at that ballot--I hated all the candidates.

And again - which ones are they? Joe Biden as VP? That's hardly any worse than Sarah Palin for VP. And if experience is a requisite for being president, then how the hell can you elect Sarah Palin as the VP candidate? She had less experience than Obama to begin with. And being a mayor of a city with 8,000 people is hardly indicative of ones ability to lead a nation. I'm not judging, just curious about why "these people" don't settle for one standard instead of two

The double standards piss me off to no end... For starters, consider that Sarah Palin is actually Governor of Alaska, in addition to having been a Mayor once. But people forget about that point. They'd rather focus on how little responsibility a Mayor has in comparison to VP. Despite that, that is STILL more executive experience than Obama, Biden, & McCain put together. None of them have ever served in any sort of executive office. And say what you will about Alaska, but last time I checked, a governor is not only over the people in the state, but is essentially in charge of the lands of the state, and makes decisions about it too. That makes Sarah Palin in charge of more land than any other governor in the U.S. It is also one of only 2 states that don't border any other U.S. states.

That aside, Obama has been for "Change", as his campaigning slogan suggests. He talked of doing away with the old bureaucratic processes that prevent change. If that's so, why have the longest running senator, who's been doing those very bureaucratic processes longer than anyone else, as your running mate, and VP?

Double standards, indeed.

Aren't these people of the same caliber of those who don't understand GPL and don't understand how something can be free, so they therefore think (read: "insist") that Linux is actually illegal? Such people would also question Blizzard's wisdom in their choice of tech, and could possibly tell them to suck it up, and use http/ftp for game updates, leaving in their mind no legitimate uses for P2P.
