WWIIOline is FPS with a much smaller niche than Planetside will have, and despite the rocky start and initial skepticism, it's still going "strong".
With the marketing power of Sony, the resources for online development of Sony Online, and with Planetside's near-monopoly of the MMOFPS marketspace, it's hard to believe Planetisde will flounder.
