Personally, even from the early days I've never seen Bitcoin as an investment. I've always been disappointed (until recently) with the number of places to spend it, but that's getting better. By buying in low-value periods I've been able to buy hosting, computing devices and VPN subscription. For real investment there's always fiat currency: horses for courses, right?

It won't help the grid at all, but by golly, the precious data center will live to serve another gigabyte of AI slop. Priorities!
