Comment Too many standards (Score 1) 177

My experience has been that there are too many WAP standards in the US for full development to be realistic. Each maker has their own adaptation of the WAP. So instead of writing one site I have to write a site for Nokia, Bell, ATT, PCS... it goes on and on. This is holding the development of WAP in the US down. In other countries such as Japan, my WAP development was been much easier because of the common strandards. NTT DoCoMo's iMode fr example. Penetrates more than half the market making development a lot more reasonable both in ease of programming and $.
