Complain if someone donates money. Complain if they're rich. Complain if they don't donate money. All on who is in office at the time? Who cares! Investing in the future from a tech giant? Ya, that sounds pretty great. I don't care what party you back. And now you won't by a Dell cause he did something great for the entire county? $250 for kids for 250 years of the US?
If this is what SlashDot has become, then I'm done. I only come by every once in a while to see if there is any neat tech news. Mostly I only find trolls, who are not rated as trolls, spewing out Trump bad, Biden stupid, etc. Tech don't care none about this stuff. Nerds like to nerd out and build crap cause they want to and can. This used to be a kewl place to come and see good opinions of people IN the industry.
Well times have changed and this platform is cooked.

You didn't see it coming, cause you didn't have the camera! It is a crappy situation.
You were doing fine till you exposed your not so slightly bias opinions with the facts of the first part of your post. Competition is great. What we are learning is, space is hard.
Of course no one want to give any real recognition to the company who actually created a new service offering. Personally, I'm happy a "rich" person created this offering and is "enriching" the world because of it. Unfortunately, people can't uncouple their political views from a great technology.
ha ha!

sorry don't know how to write out Mickeys' laugh...
I have an HP printer and it works fine. I just give it a static IP with no gateway. No way to phone home. You shall not pass, etc.
Wouldn't be the big companies if we didn't pay money for the product. Ya ya, it's the 36 big companies. Blame them.
Yup just them white people.... no one else is comsuming... causing problems...
I hope your post was sarcastic and I missed it.
Also, why don't people talk about living in places where, well they most likely shouldn't. I know, build huge cities in places where they have "hurricane season". Might be a bad move also.
If I worked for Google I would make a fine increment timer and put it on the wall...
Teamsters are from yesteryear and if they pull into Amazon warehouses it will be the end of it. Amazon improves process constantly, and the Teamster union would be left in the dust with changes, or try to hold improvements back.
I have no idea why people think Amazon is so bad to employees. I can't think of a job you can start with little to no skills, get paid well, stocks, health care, etc. Also, Amazon constantly encourages employees to move up and learn more. What I do see is people complaining about how bad it is really is people don't want to work hard.
My reference: My 75 year old mother in law works at Amazon in a warehouse. So if it's really that bad, how come she can do it?
?? no reason to doubt ??
I doubt that.
I'm noping your nope, so yup.
Global climate "fairly constant" for the past several thousand years eh? Got those records to prove that? Have some rain collection from 2000BC? Know how many hurricanes ran around and where in the 1600's?
Just the facts please.
I love peeps who have to insult others to make a point.
I'm pointing out every time there is a natural anomaly, people just say climate change. If you say the sky is falling over and over again, no one will believe the message. If every time climate change is spoken it's extreme, then people will stop listening.
I think you will find it hard to prove there is more severe weather. Compared to what, and when? Not saying no to climate change, but if you are going to make a statement, it's on you to provide evidence.
There is more rain. It must be climate change! There is a drought. It must be climate change! There are bigger storms. It must be climate change!
Eventually everyone will stop listening if everything is from climate change.
By the way, there is one thing that is constant in our world climate... it changes.
You define the issue with your solutions well. Freedom of speech? Who defines what is "evil" material? That is ambiguous. So if I have enough money/political power I can define what is considered "evil" and remove it. Sounds like a nice way of controlling the narrative. Sounds like an oppressive government waiting to happen.
