Got an immorally excessive amount of free time, and a good helping of patience to boot? Then peep the video after the break. We fell asleep a full three times watching the 1:44 video of David Wegmuller's Lego "self tracker," but that doesn't mean we don't recommend you give it a look yourself. The machine is basically a souped-up "train," which can place its own track, Wallace & Gromit style. The sluggish bot rolls onto a freshly lain track piece, and then turns to grab the one behind and swing it around in front. Radon360 writes: Kodak has decided to attempt to buck the trend set by HP by offering low cost printers and exorbitantly priced ink cartridges. According to this WSJ review, three of their new printers start at $149, with ink cartridges costing $9.99 for a black cartridge and $14.99 for a five color cartridge. To counter, HP has announced a release of lower-priced cartridges, though with less ink and they are still more expensive than Kodak's. It will be a matter of time to see whether Kodak can upset the practice of ink cartridge extortion.

This release improves the virtualization with VMI, a paravirtualization interface that will be used by Vmware. KVM does get initial paravirtualization support along with live migration and host suspend/resume support. 2.6.21 also gets a tickless idle loop mechanism called 'Dynticks', built in top of 'clockevents', another feature that unifies the timer handling and brings true high-resolution timers. Other features are: bigger kernel parameter-line, support for the PA SEMI PWRficient CPU and for the Cell-based 'celleb' Toshiba architecture, NFS IPv6 support, IPv4 IPv6 IPSEC tunneling, UFS2 write, kprobes for PPC32, kexec and oprofile for ARM, public key encryption for ecryptfs, Fcrypt and Camilla cipher algorithms, NAT port randomization, audit lockdown mode, some new drivers and many other small improvements."

The Guitar Port is hardware and software that allows you to hookup your guitar to a computer and emulate the sounds of various different amps and effects. Your guitar's signal is converted to some digital format and sent through the USB bus to the Guitar Port's software running on the PC. The software processes your guitar's signal based on which amps and effects are enabled and outputs the signal to a soundcard or even to the Guitar Port itself (the Guitar Ports presents itself as a sound card to Windows).
To my humble ears the tones produced by the Guitar Port sound very good and are quite varied. The basic sound of the guitar will always be present, it won't magically make your guitar sound like Vai's or Van Halen's. Even so, I was very surprised that my les paul copy sounded so very good through the guitarport.
I only play at home, just for fun but after starting recording my own playing, I really noticed my playing getting a lot tidier and consistent. That is a plus that I wasn't expecting. Ironically, the unique selling point for me was the ability to play music half-speed without changing pitch. I never use this feature.
