Google "false rape accusations against taxi drivers" and you'll get a lot more...I'd have at least 1 camera maybe 2 if I was a taxi driver. In the US some drunk asshole girl tells the cops you tried to rape her - you face your life being destroyed, her worst punishment if they catch her is mild inconvenience. Not even close to even.

If you work in tech it's > 50% indians now. The whole "white people in tech" idea is like a decade out of date.

Which isn't to say that it's going great for the indian employees, they usually find they're not allowed to complain, last place I was at they were being worked 7 days/week with no breaks, for angry dominating managers.

If it wasn't so sad it would be funny, how the so called "anti racism" narrative is used to promote basically...recreating a slavery-type system.

This whole thing is about older people (in management positions) trying to drive other older people of their same race out. White people are 1 thing that's bad - they're the dumbest race. You'll see Indians fighting with each other, but you won't see Indians pushing out other indians in favor of other races, like white people do.

So, you're telling me the guys staying late writing code remained in coding positions, while the guys who knocked off early and vocalized achievements for themselves were promoted to management... ...and you think this is a race thing?

Maybe you're a bit racist and that's why you don't get promoted...

This is the different between indians and white people. White people go:
"oh no, no, no - if I do anything that prefers white people I must be racist!"

Indians will say whatever you want to hear but as soon as they're among themselves they go back to:
"well obviously it's morally better to bring in more people like us (other indians) and get rid of people not like us".

All the successful "agile shops" I've worked at simply distort agile back to what they were doing before so people can write code without wanting to kill themselves or someone else.

They just sent our "we're going to whip everyone into shape doing agile!" to another state to get rid of him because he was destroying an effective team with agile methodology.

I say it's the opposite. Someone wanted to stop coding and make a lot if money "selling" Agile instead.

So they packaged up a well known framework to micromanage employees that appealls to managers. Then to "sell" it they made up all this b.s. about how it make all of developers dreams come true. That's how sales works, you focus on appealling to the people actually making the decision. You tell everyone it will make all their dreams comes true. By the time they realize you're full of it, they've already bought into it.

"What you're telling me is that you and your team failed to understand the ethos of agile development and particularly failed to apply it. You're slating an entire approach because you're incapable of following it. That's ok, not everybody's a good software engineer. Maybe you can get a job in testing or support." Ah, yes, the bullying and utter lack pf responsibility that always comes with Agile. "Not only Agile terrible, but we can actually blame Agile not working - on it's victims!"

I've had one person in an interview admit that their company hadn't hired any junior developers since h1b visa workers became available.

My previous boss told me directly that he preferred the indian workers because they work nights and weekends, to fulfill their story points, wheres the other devs would not.

The problem isn't that the h1b are (usually) bad people. The problem is the management above them hires them so they can have people to push around and abuse. I watched an entire indian recruiting company setup a relatively healthy work environment - then get absolutely demolished by the white managers above them and the crazy "new tech" software architects.

Then the h1b's became assholes, but there was clearly a cause for it.
