No, stop doing this. Don't conflate expectation and acceptance/tolerance. Would anyone familiar with relevant history expect microsoft not to act this way? Of course not. Does that somehow make it ok, like we shouldn't get pissed at them for being assholes, simply because they're perpetual assholes? No. That's madness.

It's a useless way of looking at things. It gives people a free pass to act on their worst impulses simply by exercising the same terrible behavior over and over again. So the one who acts like an asshole just once gets a full helping of social repercussion, because the response should be in proportion to the severity and magnitude of the misdeed, but the one who acts like an asshole a hundred times is suddenly exempt from this equation?

This idea that "evil corporations are just what they are, you gotta accept that" people throw around is a dangerous horseshit corporate born meme. Do blame them, do hold contempt, do hold a grudge. They know perfectly well what they're doing, don't indirectly bend over for them with bland acceptance just to make the world seem more sensible. The moment they ingrain the idea in people's heads that this is what is to be expected, the behavior is normalized and gains acceptance. That's exactly why we have giant economic entities doing the most immoral and terrible things and facing little to no consequences, while an individual committing 1% of the crime would be outcast and thrown behind bars. So yes, if microsoft is the fat kid and they eat a cake they know isn't meant for them, you should get mad at them. They know what they did.

When junkies try to steal my shit, I get pissed at them like I would at anyone else.
Expected behaviour != accepted behaviour. Don't give people a free pass for being assholes just because they're assholes.
