Built mine 3 years ago. With the exception of a new 80GB HDD(ATA 133, natch) and two extra 256MB SIMMs, she clocked in at $1700 total with monitor and all the goodies (cordless desktop, xDSL, CD burner, etc.)
I always build the computer I want. :-)
