GMontag's Journal: Costume for Work

Well, I was going to put on a suit and tie and be Christopher Walken, but changed my mind and put on a flanel shirt and came as a Canadian. Unfortunately it is brown plaid, rather than the official red/black uniform of the north. Kaki pants and workboots of course.

Did not take the time to find an ax for my costume either, so I am a regular Canadian, not a Canadian engineer/rocket scientist :(

"don'tchaknow" isn't Canadian. I usually hear that in sketches when people are making fun of Wisconsin or something like that.

Yes I know that. If I were going as a Minnisoooooooooooootian or something I would not be saying 'eh, 'eh.

Only older people from there talk like that(like my great aunt), reminds me of Bobby's mom from Bobby's world. But there I go showing my age.

Don't forget "Okie dokie"

At a truck stop in Albert Lea, MN we had a waitress who sounded like someone off of "A Prairie Home Companion". She ended just about everything she said with "okie dokie". Very strange as I'd never heard anyone talk like that in real life.
