Comment USS Sony: Abandon ship! (Score 1) 224

Frankly I believe Sony has been falling down over so many hurdles lately it's hard to forge a positive outlook over the next few years as regards their PS3 etc. I don't know who's on their management now but they seem to be making a lot of rash moves that aren't doing anything to help them at all. They kicked the dog out earlier this year (AIBO), then at E3 they hosted a rather dull press conference in comparison to even Nintendo, and then cheered everyone up with the great marketing strategy of announcing a $600 price tag for the PS3, around about the same time that Nintendo announced pricing of less than $250 for their Wii, presumably this was to make other consoles look "cheaper", but actually it did just that, make them look cheaper, and no one wants to pay more than they have to! We then found that they'd mimicked the innovative Nintendo Wiimote design in their PS3 control pad, thus coming in second, and the final one that springs to my mind is the potentially superb QRIO biped robot that they actually had started "feeding" consumers nice and early, and were in a good position to market something really hot that despite the price tags talked about I am confident would have sold... only to then chop it at the last minute. I could go on, but I think Sony are really going to have to pull a very healthy-looking rabbit out of the hat very quickly indeed to pull themselves around and keep their credibility as a main player.
